Serendipity’s Embrace follows the story of an animation producer (Kim So Hyun) who had a tough previous relationship so she is now afraid of affection. She unexpectedly reunites with a person (Chae Jong Hyeop) who had a crush on her in highschool who’s now a monetary planner.
Kim So Hyun is Lee Hong Ju. She is an animation producer who doesn’t wish to get right into a relationship because of a nasty break up. Issues begin to change although when she reunites with an previous pal from highschool.
Chae Jong Hyeop performs Kang Hu Yeong. He’s a monetary planner who had a crush on Hong Ju in highschool however tried to place it behind him. His emotions are rekindled when he meets her once more and feelings run excessive.
Serendipity’s Embrace is a fairly primary romantic comedy. It has a easy premise with two highschool pals assembly once more as adults and having to take care of their emotions. It’s all fairly commonplace.
The primary battle surrounds Hong Ju and Hu Yeong remembering their previous and coming to phrases with their present emotions. We do have some minor points surrounding Hong Ju’s ex, her pal, and Hu Yeong’s mother. It’s all fairly laid again although.
Hu Yeong and Hong Ju have a pleasant relationship general. We get a number of flashbacks to them in highschool to see what their temporary friendship was like and the way they bonded. These scenes had been woven in properly and laid a superb basis for the connection.
Though the present day curiosity is there pretty quickly, it takes a bit for them to behave on their emotions. We discover their points, take care of potential issues, and start a relationship. They’ve some good conversations and a number of other candy moments between them.
There’s a secondary couple of Hong Ju’s pal, Hye Ji (Kim Da Som), and a fitness center trainer named Gyeong Taek (Hwang Sung Bin). They add a bit of additional humor to the sequence. Nothing too loopy, but it surely’s cute sufficient.
General, Serendipity’s Embrace is fairly run-of-the-mill. The pacing is laid again and nothing notably thrilling occurs. The couple is nice however fairly strange. There’s a splash of drama blended with humor and a little bit of coronary heart. I did fairly benefit from the soundtrack with this one which was utilized very well.
However the sequence was on the tasteless facet and never very memorable. At solely 8 episodes, it’s good in order for you a easy, low-stress watch with a relationship journey on the heart and simply sufficient battle to push issues alongside.
My Score: 6/10
